Description
this item is a 14" Chemehuevi indian arrow from the 1860's...... This museum quality arrow of Chemehuevi origin is from the CRIT reservation in Arizona..... the collector in Parker, Arizona has asked us to list this from his collection of COLORADO RIVER INDIAN TRIBES artifacts his family has collected since the middle 1800's... this farming family traces their family tree back to the early 1800's and had ties to the formation of the CRIT reservation and establishment of the CRIT (COLORADO INDIAN TRIBES) reservation in 1865, as well as some of the old family members having worked at the old Arizona Territorial Prison in Yuma, Arizona.........This arrow is 24 inches long and is made with colorado river cane shaft that is VERY STIFF AND STRONG in spite of it's few 'lengthwise cracks' that have not weakened this arrow over the last 100+ years.... the present collector keeps all of his collectibles in glass top, cedar boxes for preservation and visable display....... the 1 1/2" X 3/4" arrowhead appears to be knapped from Mojave flint, i believe,,,,... the fletching (4") is golden brown in color (NATURAL FEATHER) and has VERY LITTLE damage/deteoration and is also in GREAT CONDITION..... the arrowhead and feathers are fastened to the shaft by what appears to be rawhide ...deer? or small animal? .. there is not paint or other coloring visable to me... the "paper" is by Windwalker Collectibles and we encourage the purchaser to take ANY artifact purchase to HIS/HER FAVORITE APPRAISER for their own evaluation... if you are not 100% pleased with ANY purchase from us, within thirty days, we will refund your investment, including shipping both ways... ...your SATISFACTION is always GUARANTEED on our listings.........thank you very much for visiting our NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN trading post and CO-OP..... priority mail S&H is 8.75 with delivery confirmation and insurance included...INTERNATIONAL transactions welcome but S&H is higher and depends on destination...-
