Garner collection comes this fabuluous museum quality genuine Northwest Coast Nootka bird form rattle circa 1900-1920. James Garner was the former curator and scholar who curatored for the Washington Sttae museum, the museum of Anthropology at UBC, the Vancouver City museum as well as the Glenbow Museum Calgary (biography to the winning bidder). Acquired by Mr. Garner in Seattle Washington in 1955 the rattle is certainly decades earlier than its collection date. The rattle is  a great large size measuring 15" long x 5 1/4" wide and stands 4 1/2" tall and is painted in excellent old pigments of green, blue, black and a vermillion red. The one wing appears to have a native repair to a crack on the one wing done long ago otherwise fine original condition. The rattle makes a lovely noise when shaken as one would expect. This museum quality rattle will make a fine display item and great addition to anyone's collection  Please add $15 for careful shipping and insurance (USA). Good Luck and Happy bidding.
