Description A very fine PAIR of IBEJI STATUES (male twins).  Yoruba.  Pre-1950 This fine PAIR of IBEJI STATUES show 2 male twins, wearing a glass bead belt around their waist.  They are extremely well carved and have metal studs (nails?) for eys. These Ibejis are prime examples and are carvings which were "used".  This means that they were used during rituals and within the tribe.  They come from an old collection in Antwerp, from which I will be selling more pieces in the next coming weeks and at the moment in my other listings. Each piece was carefully chosen by the collector for its quality, special features and authenticity.
